About project
The project “Developing practical skills for organizing green spaces”, emerged as a necessity of the Forestry technological Highschool to provide quality vocational training in real working conditions through European mobility to pupils registered at “Natural resources and environmental protection” profile with “silviculture” qualification.
Analyzing the dynamics of the labor market in Valcea County, it became clear that there is an acute need for skilled workers in this domain (green space organizer).
The main objectives of the project are:
– Acquiring professional competences in the field of green space planning and maintenance, by 16 students, during 3 weeks of practical work in real conditions.
– Adapting the school offer to the requirements of this dynamic and changing labor market.
-The foundation of a sustainable partnership between our institution, city hall, external training
partners and 2 local economic agents.
– The acquisition of entrepreneurial initiatives after this traineeship.
The target group of the project consists of 16 pupils, enrolled in the 10th grade, High School, with “natural resources and environmental protection” profile and “technician in silviculture and forestry expeditions ”qualification”.
The project’s activity is a 3-week internship, realized in real working conditions, to an ISO-certified partner from Lisbon-Portugal.
The outcomes of the project will be:
– Practical training for 16 students in real working conditions.
– Project’s web page.
– Combined Practice Mode (CDL) for the 10th grade, with “technician in forestry and forestry” qualification.
On the long term, the project will contribute to a long-lasting partnership between the Forestry
College, the direct hosting partner and the economic agents from Valcea County, a partnership that will allow the establishment of dual vocational education classes and easier access to the labor market for the graduates of the “forestry” qualification and the “green spaces workers” qualification from the vocational school.
